Thread Lift

Thread lift is also called as suture facelift. It is performed to tighten or smoothen the skin around the eyes, cheeks or chin. This procedure is usually carried out by a surgeon with adequate experience in an establishment registered with the healthcare commission.

A surgeon or a doctor usually passes special threads with tiny teeth using needles through the layer of fat under the skin. The threads are then held in a place by the tissue that is formed around the threads. The doctor or surgeon later pulls these threads so that the skin gets tightened and they stitch the top of the thread with a small suture.

Each procedure will take up to two hours and usually carried out by local anesthetic. There will be smoothing or lifting of the skin on the face. Though the results are permanent, the skin will continue to age. Thread lift may result in swelling or bruising of the skin.
