Fat Transfer

Fat transfer is usually performed to smooth the contour or to provide shape to different parts of the body. This procedure should be performed only by surgeons those who have relevant skills. They should have proper experience in an establishment registered with the healthcare commission.

Fat transfer requires surgery and treatment that will last for at least two hours. But the time taken depends upon the area of the body and quantity of the fat involved. A small incision is usually made by the surgeon and later a metal tube called cannula is inserted. Consequently the fat is extracted through cannula with the help of a needle or a vacuum pump. Sometimes the fat is washed before being injected into the new area using a needle.

A series of tiny needles are used for implanting fat in the face. The extracted fat is stored for future treatments. Sometimes there is also some swelling and bruising in the treated area. It will take about ten days to recover. But generally recovery depends upon the area being treated.
