Dental bridges

Dental bridges refer to prostheses that are used to replace missing tooth. The major benefit of dental bridges is they cannot be removed by the patient. There are also prostheses that are removable by the patients .They are called as RPDs or removable partial dentures. There are also permanent bridges called as misnomer .But the fact is no dental restorative can be called as permanent.

Some time or the other, all dental restorations will need replacement. Dental bridges are made up by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth according to a preparation pattern determined by the location of the teeth.

In other words, the abutment teeth or tooth are reduced in size to give space for the materials that are to be used to restore the size and shape of the original teeth or tooth .The teeth is reduced according the materials used . But the bridge recipient should bother to clean well.
