Craniofacial reconstruction surgery refers to a sub set of plastic surgery which deals with reconstruction of the facial features due to congenital and acquired deformities of the skull, face and jaws. Admission to this surgical education programs is open ot those who have completed an accredited plastic surgery residency program or other equalent programs. Some other defects treated by these surgeons include craniosynostosis (isolated and syndromic), acute and chronic sequellae of facial fractures, rare craniofacial clefts and much more.
