Oral supplement of collagen provides for a way by which the body gets
vital amino acids and proteoglycans needed to maintain tissues. Presently,
two main collagen supplements are being used—a combined collagen
type I & collagen type III oral supplement and a collagen type
II supplement.
Collagen type II supplements can be in form of collagen capsules,
gel, lotion and serum.
BioCellCollagenII is said to work well against arthritis and heart
diseases. It relaxes the person from joint pains and has been very
effective. Overall it is said to work for skin, joints and eye.

Botox (Injection)
Chemical Skin Peel
Glycolic Acid Peel
Obagi Blue Peel
Restylane (Injection)
Hylaform (Injection)
All the above are various treatments for anti wrinkle, Botox leads
to temporary weakening of muscles and the person may face little
discomfort in certain expressions.
The peels like chemical and glycolic do not have the fast effect
as compared to Collagen supplements, they are mostly applied locally
on the surface and do not have stimulating effect like Collagen.
Restylane is though injected similarly yet it is different from
collagen. The most vital difference is absence of animal protein
in it. This overcomes the side effect of collagen where animal protein
may lead to infection or allergy.
Overall all treatments have their own set of benefits and drawbacks
but they are quite effective in reducing wrinkles and scars.
It is true that the treatments show substantial effects but their
effects do not last permanently. Often the effect lasts for a period
of few months about 6-8 months. After that the person has to go
for a repeat cycle. These repeated treatments are safe and effective
which makes them quite popular and they have been widely accepted
as an alternate to surgical cures.
